I ran Thousandaire a few years ago for our club and we raised over €30,000. I recommended it to our hurling board and we ran ‘Who wants to be a Five Thousandaire’. It was some buzz when contestants were going for five grand!. The €52,000 raised was so important to our hurlers who went all the way to the All Ireland final afterwards.

We announced €26,000 on the night, however, the total has now reached just over €28,500. We are thrilled. We’re especially happy that, not only was it a fantastic result financially, but the reaction from the Community as a whole has been so very positive. The feelgood factor this week outside the school, locally in shops and businesses has been amazing. All those in attendance forgot their original plan of “popping in for an hour to show my face” – they stayed the whole night because what was presented was such excellent, quality entertainment in it’s own right – and certainly earned the cost of the ticket!

What an incredible night in the White River Hotel, Toomebridge, Co Antrim on October 22nd. There wasn’t a single chair left available and the club raised a whopping £24,000. Erin’s Own are Antrim County Champions so the money was never more needed !
